Description

Introduction to introduction to B-theory 4

Topics of the week:
1. From 2-dimensional instantonic model to A-I-B mirror transformation (of Frenkel and Losev) for toric manifolds.
The main idea is to treat maps to toric compactification of C* may be treated as maps to C* that are defined everywhere except preimages of compactifying divisors. These preimages (called holomortexes) may be described in free CFT as local operators. The integration over instantons would mean integration over positions of the points and therefore to deformation of the original CFT.
2. In the second talk I would describe tropicalization that would lead in particular to treatment of 2-dimensional model as a special 1-dimensional model in the spirit of the same example 2.
3. I would also outline the program for study of holomorphic maps from toric surfaces to toric manifolds, explain why it was not studied before, and propose how to write down Givental-Nekrasov-like functions in this case. If there would be enough people interested I may start complementary research seminar on this topic.
I will also outline the A-I-B ideas for this case. Since this is not a piece of the main course, this should be considered as an example of the complementary activity  announced at the beginning of the course.

CHANGE of starting time - for convenience of Asian participants the starting time on Thursday would be 3 pm Moscow time that is 8pm Beijing time that is 7 am NY time.

Thus, we will start 30 minutes earlier.
