22–26 June, 2022
The conference is devoted to spectral theory and its applications in modern mathematical physics. There will be talks on the general operator theory, differential, integral and difference operators, scattering theory, inverse problems, periodic and ergodic operators, asymptotic methods and applications, e.g., on the modern quantum physics and nonlinear physics. We also plan to organize talks devoted to interesting general analytic problems.
The conference schedule and the book of abstracts are now available: Schedule and Book of Abstracts.
The meetings will be held in a hybrid format. Participants can join in-person at the Leonhard Euler International Mathematical Institute (Pesochnaya nab. 10, St. Petersburg, Russia), or via Zoom (register to get the link).
A limited amount of funds is available to support junior researchers to attend the Conference. These funds can be used to cover the costs of the registration fee, travel and accommodation. To be considered for these funds, please send your CV to apply.stmp@eimi.ru. In addition to the CV, please ask a well-known specialist on spectral theory or mathematical physics to write a short (0.5–1 page) recommendation letter in a free form and send it to the same email address.
The conference is financially supported by ICM 2022, by a grant from the Government of the Russian Federation, agreements 075-15-2019-1619 and 075-15-2019-1620, by a grant from Simons Foundation.
The St.Petersburg Conference in Spectral Theory and Mathematical Physics is an official International Congress of Mathematicians 2022 (ICM 2022) Satellite conference. The ICM is the most significant meeting in pure and applied mathematics worldwide, and one of the oldest scientific congresses. ICMs are organized every four years by the International Mathematical Union in partnership with the Local Organizing Committee from the host country.
Spectral theory and mathematical physics have been among the highlights of St.Petersburg mathematical school over many decades. The names of L.D.Faddeev, M.Sh.Birman, and V.S.Buslaev are among the names of worldwide leaders in these fields. Several generations of researchers from St.Petersburg, working both in Russia and abroad, have been successful in defining a significant part of the international mathematical physics and spectral theory community. Our conference continues a series of St.Petersburg conferences in spectral theory.
Please pay the special attention to the need to register for participation in the ICM 2022 on the Congress website for those who plan to participate in the Congress. Obtaining the right to visa-free entry in the period from 01.03.2022 to 01.09.2022 to the territory of the Russian Federation is granted only to registered participants of the Congress, including those who plan to participate in satellite events. We ask also the participants (invited speakers, speakers, young mathematicians, women mathematicians) to register on this page.
