Russia-Vietnam Conference on Algebraic Geometry, Algebraic Groups, Commutative Algebra, and Applications
August 24 - 28, 2026
The conference will focus on algebraic geometry, algebraic groups, and commutative algebra. It aims to foster knowledge exchange and build research networks between mathematicians in Russia and Vietnam. Topics to be discussed at the conference include automorphism groups of algebraic varieties, actions of algebraic groups, Chevalley groups, algebraic K-theory, Lie groups and Lie algebras, local Artinian algebras, computational methods in algebra and algebraic geometry as well as other subjects. The conference will bring together leading scientists from Russia and Vietnam who have achieved outstanding results in these fields.
This is the second conference in a series of joint meetings in the framework of the project “Flexibility and Computational Methods” realized by the Institute of Mathematics of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and the HSE University as a part of the International Academic Cooperation Programme. The first meeting took place in 2025 in Hanoi. We believe that collaboration between the researchers from leading scientific institutes and universities in Russia and Vietnam will make a significant positive contribution to the advancement of mathematics in both countries.
